Alice Springs

OK, what's going on with the weather. I was just getting used to it warming up as we come north when I find it's colder here than in Uluru, they're putting the - sign in front of the temperature at night which isn't good. Alice Springs is OK, a bit rough in places, quite a few drunk abo's hang around Todd Street Mall but they're nothing to worry about. There's a few things to see in Alice itself, the Telegraph Station was very good as was the Desert Wildlife Park, the Old Ghan Railway would have been better if they'd used the steam train. The MacDonnell ranges have a lot of gaps, gorges and chasms but they're definitely worth seeing and have some good walks.

Accommodation - Big 4 place. Very big, they've won loads of awards for something, having the smallest pool in existence I reckon. It's alright though, shame about the inability of the staff to use the booking system, having to keep going through all our ins and outs, which weren't really that complicated, was a real pain. Having them cock it up completely on the last day and put some one else in our plot while we were out was the last straw, don't go here go to the one of the campsites next door.
