Lima

Back to Lima, it's still a dump. We stayed by the pool on the roof of our posh hotel in Miraflores all day but did venture out and walked down to Parque Salazar and the Larcomar shopping centre in the evenings. It's the place on the sea front that we came to last time we were here. It's got all the things the tourist could need, bowling alley, cinema, restaurants (although the Hard Rock Cafe has shut down, thank god!), shops and security guards to keep the riff raff out, etc. All very civilised

Accommodation - Hotel Boulevard, very nice. We got the room for US$60/night as it's off season as they were empty. There were a few business people staying but they disappeared after breakfast so we had the place to ourselves, pool, sun-terrace and all the waiters, hurrah! Also has free Internet in the business centre downstairs. The restaurant is nice but over priced as is the bar. The supermarket next door sells the same wine they have on the menu for US$15/bottle at US$1.50.
