We only went to the historical site which is just the old penal colony. It's very interesting but it all seems a bit sanitised and doesn't really show how hard life must have been. They do give you lots of information but as a whole the place looks like a big garden.

Accommodation - Port Arthur caravan and cabin park. We have our own on-suite bog and shower. We still have to walk 10m to get to it though, perhaps I should have parked closer. Tried using the pay phone at reception but it's an antique I think, piece of junk didn't want to take our money and made these funny clicking noises that I seem to remember before they invented DTMF tones.
