LP says it's a backpacker place so we assumed it would be something like Airlie Beach, wrong! Despite there being more people apparently it was no where near as good. The town and bars are spread out along the bay and as it's quite long it makes it difficult to find anything. We did find one bar on the 2nd night so that was OK, things seem to be more on the west end of the bay. Most people come here to go to Fraser Island which is what we wanted to do, we were going to hire a 4WD and blast around in that, unfortunately the tides were against us and the woman in the hire shop said it wasn't worth it, we went whale watching instead. Despite the rough sea it was an amazing experience, I'm not sure who was watching who, they were definitely having more fun.

Accommodation - Happy Wanderer Village Caravan Park, Top Tourist. Very nice! Everything was just right.
