LP says it's a backpacker hangout so we took Daren there. It was excellent, so good he wants to spend all his holiday there next year. The town is fairly small and everything is on the main street. Mostly it seems to be clubs, bars and travel related places. From my blurred memory M@ss was crap, Paddy Shinnanigans was very good, can't remember the names of the other places. From here you can go out to the reef which we did again, it was loads cheaper than Port Douglas and was better I thought, more to see. You also have the Whitsunday Islands which are fantastic. We did a trip to Hamilton Island and Whitehaven Beach on Whitsunday Island, it was paradise.

Accommodation - Island Gateway Caravan Resort, Top Tourist. Very nice once we had found the new toilet block. Pool was good I want one like that when we get home, but heated. It's only 1km from town so you can walk in 10 mins.
