Canberra

The Australian Capital. It's a city for bureaucrats and political people. What an excellent idea, create a city especially for them so they don't clog up your own and interfere with everyday life too much. We didn't see too many people there, the streets were empty. There were lots of school kids on our campsite but where they went during the day I don't know. The new parliament house is worth a visit, it's quite cool in design, not the usual stuffy Victorian box. The science museum was fun, mainly for kids but I liked it. The National Capital Exhibition is quite good as well, they have some of the alternate designs that were entered when they had the competition to design Canberra. Opposite, on the other side of the lake you can see one of the ugliest buildings in the world, the High Court, it is so out of place it's funny.

Accommodation - Canberra Motor Village. Full of school kids running around in the evening and according to the lady next to us "shooting up" in the toilet, although I suspect she didn't actually know what that meant and had heard it on the TV. They weren't allowed in our toilet block so they were alright The plot we had was the worst so far just because it was nowhere near flat.
