Luang Prabang

I'm sure this place has more Wats than are necessary for a small town, where do they get all the monks to go in them?

Accommodation: We stayed in the Heritage Guest House, it's the nicest looking one we could find in our price range when we got here. Even the following day we only found one that was better, same price but newer building. It's US$10/night for a fan room with bathroom, hot water etc. Very quiet for most of the day but at 4am the monks in the Wat next door wake up for morning rituals or something similar, this involves banging a large drum and clashing lots of cymbals for 20mins, you may need ear plugs.
