Largest city on the South Island. We went for a row up the river Avon through the botanical gardens which was very nice. We also climbed the tower of the cathedral but it wasn't really worth the effort, the view is spoilt by all the modern buildings so you can't see far, it's also very windy at the top.

Accommodation - Meadow Park Top 10 Site. OK, excellent kids play area (yes I had a go) and big TV, slow Internet connection.
