It's the most active thermal area in NZ. Lots of places to go to see boiling mud, steaming pools of multicoloured water and geysers. There's also quite a few spa's that get their water from the hot springs and are very relaxing. Besides that there's a huge lake for water sports and loads of adrenaline based activities, the luge at Skyline was excellent.
